Here we are at one of our favourite jobs of the year.

We have been so incredibly lucky to be able to look after this oak tree for the last 16 years now.

We only ever really dead wood the tree because we have the space to do it. Also due to the amount of space surrounding the tree there is not really ever a need to reduce the crown.

However, during our last visit we were asked by the client to remove the epicormic growth around the tree trunk – which is a tree’s response to damage or stress.

This will help to give more light to the tree and will also improve the view from the clients kitchen to the beautiful landscape behind, including the beautiful redwood in the back ground.

The big burs around the trunk of this tree would be a wood turners dream!
