Would you know what to do if your workmate fell from a tree, or had an accident with their equipment or machinery?

Being a Tree Surgeon involves a fair amount of potential risks and hazards and you have to be prepared for every eventuality.

To make sure that we know how to take care of our own if the worst happens, our brilliant team recently spent two days on a forestry first aid course learning what to do if one of our team, our clients or anyone else has an accident.

Our fantastic instructor Julian Woodhall from Medic Services International. put us through our paces inside in the classroom and thanks to the great weather, outside in the woods in realistic working environments. We learnt about what to do if someone hurts themselves or falls unconscious, including responding to falls from a height, wound dressing on fake wounds, through to more serious injuries with heavy machinery and Cardiac Arrests. All essential things to know about it our line of work.

Our team Mark, Gary, Oliver, Shaun and Martin are now all qualified level 3 first aiders and ready to respond to medical incidents on the job, although obviously, we’re hoping they will be few and far between!

If you want a trusted, qualified Tree Surgery team who take the health and safety of our staff and clients very seriously, then we’d love to help.
